Parent Education
Incarcerated Mother / Father Program: Meet with inmates who have children once per week to discuss issues like discipline, anger management, effects of addiction on families, how incarceration affects children, staying connected with children while in prison, self-esteem building in self and children, child development, and other parent-related issues.
Individual Parent Support / Education: Providing parent education for anyone in Ashland County with costs on a sliding scale based on number of people in the household and household income. Parent education covers the topics of: stress, addictions and the effects they have on the family, goal-setting, parenting styles, child development, communication, discipline, and self-esteem, with other topics as needed or required. Number of sessions depends upon each client and stated goals/objectives the parents have. May be provided in-home or in the office or another agreed upon location.
Group Support / Parent Support: Providing parent support for anyone in Ashland County at no cost or low cost to an organization. This can be requested by local churches, agency or civic organizations, small groups, etc. The Number of sessions depends upon each group’s needs and stated goals/objectives the parents in the group may have. May be provided at location of the groups choice.
Divorcing Parents
This program is mandated by the Domestic Relations Court for any couple with children who is divorcing in Ashland County. Sessions are for 3 hours and are conducted twice a month at APP: 6-9pm on the second Tuesday of the month and 9am-12pm on the third Saturday of the month.
